I just got back from my 2nd ultrasound. the first ultrasound there was a clear picture of 1.19cm fetus.. the doctor said maybe 5 weeks, I just had another ultrasound and the heartbeat was not detected. so MAYBE I am 8 weeks pregnant. they were off to send me to get a DNC.. Is that crazy? what if the nurse that did the ultrasound just missed it? From what I have read it is sometimes not possible to hear the heartbeat until 12 weeks?? HELP I AM FREAKING OUT AND NOT HAVING A DNC AT AGE 38 FOR MY FIRST PREGNANCY!!

I dont know what a DNC is...but it sounds like you should go see your obgyn. At 8 weeks they should be able to see a heartbeat at an ultrasound. But sometimes the baby is positioned in such a way that it is hard to read by the technician.

I agree, at 8 weeks a heartbeat should be seen on an ultrasound. You can't hear it normally until 10-12 weeks via doppler (most of the time, some have reported hearing it earlier mind you). I am sorry you are going through this. I would definitely follow up with your Dr, and request one more ultrasound before you have a D&C.
