I am 10 weeks pregnant with twins. I would have loved to have this with my last pregnancy and planned to this time, but I am concerned that twins could make this really confusing and end up causing me more anxiety. Any suggestions ?

Congratulations on your twins!!! How exciting! I have not personally had much experience with monitoring twins as I have only had singleton pregnancies myself.

However, we have quite a few clients who are pregnant with twins and I have not heard much about anyone having too much trouble with monitoring. With twins, as with any two babies, the heartrates should be quite different so it shouldnt be too hard to distinguish between baby A and baby B.

Keep in mind though, in the first trimester they are still very little and one may be in the way of the other one etc. As your uterus and the babies grow, this shouldnt be a problem. Heartbeats are much easier to find the bigger and farther along you are.

Its helpful in the first trimester to have a full bladder and try to have some peice and quiet when you are montoring. The full bladder lifts the uterus out of your pelvis and the quiet room helps in locating the heartbeat as baby's heartbeat tends be a bit quieter and easy to miss in the early weeks. I hope that helps!
